Federal Court: Count Absentee Ballots in 2018 Georgia Governor’s Race
I am pleased to report that we obtained both a preliminary and permanent injunction in front of Judge Sands (M.D.Ga.) requiring Dougherty County to count absentee ballots that were delayed because of a confluence of factors, including a prior court ruling and Hurricane Michael. The nominal clients in this matter were the Democratic Party of Georgia and the Stacey Abrams campaign, but the real winners are voters in Dougherty County.
Press coverage of this lawsuit is available from The Albany Herald, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, NBC 11Alive News, The Hill, the Fulton County Daily Report, USA Today, Fox News, and CNN, among others.
